Alberto Barba Pardal born in1982 Zamora, Spain. A documentary photographer—Alberto's most recent work is focused on the ancestral culture and environment. In 2015, he moved to Barcelona to do a postgraduate degree in International Documentary Photography and Photojournalism at the School Grisart. His work has been published in El Mundo, Equal Times, Diari Ara , Playground, El diario.es, among other publications.  His projects have been exhibited in numerous festivals, including DOCfield International documentary festival of Barcelona, J.E.E.P European Festival of emergent talents (Paris) and Fundació Foto Colectania (Barcelona).

In 2016, Alberto was selected to “Les Coup de Coeur de l’ani” award by Iconographers National Association at Visa pour L’image. 

This year, Alberto received the Helge Hummellvoll Scholarship to attend the 69th edition of Missouri Photo Workshop. He will attend the XXX Eddie Adams Workshop in the fall. Additionally, he was a finalist in the International photojournalism award category at “PhotOn Festival”. 

Since 2016—Alberto works as a freelance photographer. He is available for assignments. 


I believe the photography is the perfect tool to approach what worries me or is incomprehensible to me, and reflect on my own culture as well as many others, photography is a way to understand. —Alberto
