Alberto Barba Pardal (Spain) is a documentary photographer who believes the photography is the perfect tool to approach what concerns or is incomprehensible to him and also to reflect his culture as well as many others. Alberto believes that photography is a way to understand, is the ideal means to explore and discover, to turn fear into a find, to investigate the incomprehensible, to believe, to develop oneself.

In 2015 he moved to Barcelona to do a postgraduate degree in Documentary Photography and multimedia languages at the International School of Photography Grisart

Since June 2016 Alberto works as a freelance photographer. His work has been published in TV3, The Week, GEO Magazine, El Mundo, La Vanguardia, Open Society Foundation, Diari Ara, Equal times or Playground among others publications. 

His projects have been exhibited at numerous festivals or galleries, including DOCfield International Documentary Festival of Barcelona, J.E.E.P European Emerging Talent Festival (Paris), Fundació Foto Colectania (Barcelona) or Las  Naves (Valencia).

Scholarships received include the "Helge Hummellvoll" to take part in the Missouri Photo Workshop, the scholarship awarded in author documentary photography by El Obervatorio and the Canon Scholarship at the Basquedok Festival.

In addition, Alberto was selected to attend the XXX Eddie Adams Workshop, to take part in the portfolio review of European emerging artists Transeurope, was a finalist of the international PhotON festival and the Emerging Artist Scholarship of the Lucie Foundation.

From 2017 to the present day he has been developing the project C A P I L L A which has brought him an evolution in his relationship with photography and the construction of his own language.
